WATCH: Carrie Underwood Delivers Incredible Rendition Of ‘America The Beautiful’ At Inauguration

Tears flowed during the opening ceremonies of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, particularly during Carrie Underwood’s heartfelt performance of “America the Beautiful” in front of a packed audience at the Capitol Rotunda. The country music star, whose participation was confirmed only weeks prior, expressed her desire to “unite” the nation under the new Trump administration, transcending political divides. Many of Trump’s pledges, including criminal justice reform and border security, enjoy bipartisan backing in various polls. This context likely influenced Underwood, who has previously criticized the President-elect, to participate in this occasion.

She was among a diverse group of performers at the inaugural events. Notably, rapper Snoop Dogg, a vocal critic of Trump, entertained at the pre-inaugural ball, spinning popular tracks such as “Drop it Like it’s Hot” and “Nothing but a ‘G’ Thang” while serving as the DJ.

In a statement regarding her decision to perform, Underwood remarked, “We need to come together. I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

On the day of the inauguration, Underwood delivered a powerful rendition of “America the Beautiful,” accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club, despite facing technical challenges. Former President Joe Biden was seen standing attentively behind her, singing alongside former Vice President Kamala Harris.

This poignant moment united a bipartisan assembly of lawmakers to welcome President Trump as he commenced his first hours in office. In a composed address that exuded executive resolve, President Trump committed to being a “unifier” as he sought common ground with Democrats who had previously shown a willingness to oppose him.

Former President Trump addressed the audience in the Rotunda, stating, “My most significant legacy will be that of a peacemaker and a unifier.” He went on to mention an agreement he reached with President Biden, along with the leaders of Israel and Hamas, aimed at achieving a cease-fire. “The hostages will be returning to their families,” he affirmed.
