Calls Grow for Adam Schiff to be Locked Up for “Lie Under Oath” Moment as Confirmation Hearing Battle Rages [WATCH]

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is encountering criticism on social media following what some are labeling a moment of “lying under oath” during his remarks at the contentious Senate confirmation hearing for incoming Attorney General Pam Bondi. After Schiff disseminated an interview with MSNBC in which he asserted that Bondi declined to “upset Trump,” numerous users have called for accountability regarding his alleged misrepresentation of facts.

During the interview, Schiff was queried, “This is your first Senate confirmation hearing. What did you learn about this process today?” He responded, “Well, the way it has, I guess, devolved, is you try to say as little as possible during your confirmation. You try to be as generic as you possibly can. Don’t give any specifics, don’t commit yourself to anything.”

In his critique of Pam Bondi, the California Democrat remarked, “And in this case, the cardinal rule was, do not say anything to upset Donald Trump.” He contended that Bondi refrained from acknowledging that President-elect Trump lost the 2020 election and did not take the January 6 investigation seriously in order to align with the incoming president’s agenda.

He elaborated, “So using that standard, she couldn’t say who won the 2020 election. She couldn’t say whether there was massive fraud affecting the outcome of the election. She couldn’t say that she would even preserve the evidence in the January 6 investigation; she couldn’t even make that commitment. She couldn’t make any commitment that she thought Donald Trump might not like.”

Expressing apprehension regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity, he stated, “And after this Supreme Court decision that gives him essentially immunity to commit crimes, absolute when it comes to the Justice Department, to have an attorney general who can’t say no to him, can’t even tell him unpleasant truths, like you lost the election in 2020 Mr. President, that’s a prescription for disasters.”

A significant number of conservatives responded to the video shared by Schiff, contesting his assertions. Conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman remarked, “I hope Pam Bondi locks you up first. Lie under oath, go to jail.” Concerns have been raised by conservatives regarding Schiff’s honesty, particularly allegations that he misrepresented the Hunter Biden laptop issue during the 2020 election and his involvement in the Russia collusion narrative.

In 2023, Representative Harriet Hageman criticized Schiff for his “lies” and for squandering “millions” of taxpayer dollars in efforts to “delegitimize” the 2016 election. She stated, “To exacerbate the situation, this representative propagated these falsehoods while serving as chair of the House Intelligence Committee, consistently suggesting, if not explicitly stating, that he possessed insider information in that role. He misrepresented how the FBI and DOJ acquired and renewed a FISA warrant. The officials from the FBI and DOJ did not withhold significant information from the FISA warrant, nor did they misrepresent the use of the Steele Dossier, the data collected through the FISA warrant, or the FBI’s vetting process for the Steele dossier, which he claimed contained definitive evidence of collusion between President Trump and Russia. Each of these assertions has been proven to be untrue.”

Concerns regarding Schiff’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop narrative were highlighted when John Ratcliffe, Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, confronted Schiff during his confirmation hearing. He stated, “In 2020, when a chairman of an intelligence committee misrepresented that a laptop belonging to then-candidate Biden’s son was somehow a Russian intelligence operation, and 51 former intelligence officials lent their authority to support that claim, I stood in the breach.”

I stood independently and conveyed the truth to the American populace, he remarked. Ratcliffe further asserted that his track record demonstrates his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities with unwavering integrity, irrespective of the difficulties involved. “My history of speaking truth to authority and advocating for the intelligence community and its commendable efforts is quite evident,” he stated.

He went on to express, “What I can guarantee is that in situations like those, should I assume the role of CIA director and face similar challenges again, despite the discomfort of being accused, the truth will ultimately prevail, and I believe the intelligence will as well.” Ratcliffe also received commendation for several other statements made during his confirmation hearing.
